2023 Rally for our Rights

ProgressPA  and the Shaler Dems held the second annual Rally for our Rights on August 17th, 2023 at Millvale Riverfront Park. 

We held this event in 2022 to draw attention to the attack on women’s reproductive rights. Since then, the threat to so many of our rights has only gotten more severe. The recent Supreme Court decision gutting Affirmative Action and attacks on LGBTQIA+ rights highlight the importance of electing candidates that will fight for our rights.

This rally was an opportunity for us to stand up and speak out to defend:

·       The siege LGBTQIA+ rights

·       Reproductive rights

·       BIPOC rights

·       Disability justice

·       Free and fair elections

·       Immigrant rights

·       Environmental justice

The event emcee was Allegheny County Council member Bethany Hallam.
